ARC Manor Serenity Family Support Group
Held every Tuesday at the Worthington Fire Hall located directly off 422W, 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Been at your wits end about how to help a friend or family member with a substance abuse problem? Not sure how to help or what to do? The public is welcome to participate in the Family Education Support Group which meets every Tuesday at the Worthington Fire Hall located directly off 422W from 7:00pm-8:30pm. This is a free service. A large percentage of families do not understand the process of addiction and recovery. The most effective way for family members and loved ones to be responsive and be supportive of their loved one is to develop a strong understanding of the disease and recovery processes. This includes remaining aware of potential triggers, avoiding enabling behavior with the chemically dependent person, understanding that recovery is a process (not an event), understanding the consequences that addiction has had on their own lives, and the importance of self-care. For more information please call Cathy Slagel 724-297-3861. No pre-registration is required!
