COMMUNITY ACTION MENTORING PROGRAM OF ARMSTRONG COUNTY

Providing volunteer services to youth between the ages of 6 and 16 who need additional emotional, social, and cultural support. Matching one adult volunteer with one youth to supplement the support system of the child and his/her family through frequent and regular interaction with the youth.


CROOKED CREEK ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING CENTER
(a program of the Armstrong Educational Trust)
A non-profit organization dedicated to promoting environmental education and resource conservation. Providing environmental education to schools and colleges throughout the region.

Offers free pregnancy screening, counseling for girls, women, parents, boyfriends, and husbands. Also assists with arranging medical care and financial assistance as well as legal aid if needed.

Offers programs and services to help individuals and families adjust to life's changes. Our services benefit children, adults and the elderly. Free developmental screenings for children birth-five. Free autism screenings beginning at 18 months.


MECHLING-SHAKLEY VETERANS CENTER

The Center is a contracted facility for homeless veterans with emotional and/or substance abuse problems. The program operates under the auspices of the VA Medical Center. The primary mission of the Center is to provide community-based residential rehabilitation so that the participants can once again become a successful part of the community.


ORPHANS OF THE STORM
A no-kill animal shelter committed to serving Armstrong County, to provide temporary shelter for unwanted and abused animals while matching lovable animals with loving forever homes, educating the public on humane responsible care of all animals to reduce animal overpopulation.
